Hans Griesser
  1. Current research activities
  2. Surface modification of materials (polymers, metals, ceramics) for biomedical applications and devices, including surface treatments for the insertion of specific chemical groups into inert polymers, and the fabrication of bioactive coatings comprising covalently immobilized biomolecules, esp proteins, that can control interfacial responses to implanted materials and devices. In parallel, development of highly sensitive physico-chemical methods for the analysis of biomaterials and bioactive coatings. Patterning of surfaces for spatial control of bio-interfacial responses. Study of protein adsorption processes onto materials and device surfaces.
