Coridon Pty Ltd

section heading graphic   Overview

Coridon is a startup biotech company headquartered in Brisbane, Australia. As the worldwide licensee of intellectual property relating to codon optimization, including a granted US patent, it has exclusive access to a novel and generic platform technology, Coricode©, which will build a pipeline of products and services for the company including novel polynucleotide prophylactic/therapeutic vaccines and cancer therapeutic treatments.

section heading graphic   Competitive Advantages

Coridon’s business is centred around predicting and optimising the appropriate commercial choice of codons in polynucleotides in order to promote or restrict expression of polynucleotides in specific mammalian cell types, tissues or state of cell differentiation. This effect can be engineered by polynucleotide design to be much larger in magnitude than is observed with tissue-specific promoters. Coridon does not use human consensus preferred codons. We design synthetic polynucleotides that are differentially expressed in the target cell of choice, in order to generate novel preventive and therapeutic products.

section heading graphic   Technology

Coricode© is based on the observation by Dr Ian Frazer at Centre for Immunology and Cancer Research at The University of Queensland, that protein expression in a mammalian cell type e.g. a skin keratinocyte can be optimised by delivering a polynucleotide created to optimise translational efficiency in that cell type and not other cell types. A set of novel constructs, the Coricode© constructs, are used to determine translational efficiency in the cell type of interest.

section heading graphic   Corporate Alliances/Partnerships

Coridon has existing corporate alliances in the fields of CHO cell fermentation, polynucleotide vaccines and cancer therapeutics.

Partners

Coricode© for CHO cell fermentation is now available for licensing, in order to create proprietary synthetic polynucleotides to enhance the efficiency of your recombinant protein production. Coridon also provides a service to determine a specific Coricode© for your cell types of interest.

Partnering Needs

Coridon is developing a pipeline of next generation polynucleotide vaccines and a topical polynucleotide treatment for squamous cell carcinoma. As part of its development program it seeks collaborative alliances in these areas
