Since incorporating CordLife in Australia, the focus has been centred on further research and development of the Cytomatrix stem cell expansion technologies. CordLife is in the process of establishing strategic alliances and planning for preliminary studies.

CordLife has expertise in umbilical cord blood (UCB) and peripheral blood (PB) stem cells banking and therapeutics. With the rapid progression of stem cell research and the development of stem cell therapies, it is expected that in the future this will include other sources of adult stem cells, such as adipose tissue and mesenchymal stem cells.

Stem Cell Banking

CordLife provides Haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) banking services. HSCs are unique cells that have the ability to continuously regenerate while producing the cells of the blood and immune system.

While HSCs are commonly found in the bone marrow of adults, alternative sources requiring less invasive collection procedures include umbilical cord blood and peripheral blood. A HSC transplant can be necessary when a patient’s bone marrow has been damaged by disease or chemotherapy or radiotherapy. To date more than 72 medical conditions have successfully been treated using HSC transplants.

3-D Static and Dynamic Cell Growth Systems

CordLife's subsidiary company Cell Sciences patented and proprietary 3-D cell growth matrix scaffold; the Cytomatrix, is revolutionising static as well as dynamic cell growth systems.
